- Prayer Meeting Thursday, September 16 - Everyone is encouraged to join us for prayer for our nation, our church, and our families on Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. This is for all ages, so come join us.
- Church Picnic Sunday, October 3 -Following the morning service. Bring a couple of dishes and a Soda/Tea to share. Oakdale Park in Bridgewater.
- Revival Services, October 24-27 - Rev. and Mrs. Gerald Mayhan. Mark your calendar and begin inviting family, friends and coworkers.

NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS: On Sunday, September 5 we will be starting two new Sunday School Classes, one for ages 4 & 5 and one for college students.

J.O.Y. FELLOWSHIP - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. FEATURING DOYLE MOATS, JR.: We’ll be honoring military, fire & rescue personnel in our area. A freewill offering will be taken for the Fire & Rescue squads. An ‘All American’ meal may be purchased for $5 and includes hotdog/chili dogs, coleslaw, baked beans, chips and drink. Apple pie may also be purchased. Individual food items may be purchased. Prices will be posted. This is to benefit J.O.Y. Fellowship.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ADULT ELECTIVES: These classes are offered at 9 a.m. each Sunday: “Counsel for Christlike Living (1 & 2 Peter)” taught by Geoff Egekwu in the Youth Chapel; “Discovering God’s Will for Your Life” taught by Melinda Miller & Cindy Fawcett in the Conference Room; and “Church Membership” taught by Pastor Jeff in the Pastor’s Office.

SMALL GROUPS: If you are willing to host a small group meeting (10- 12 people) in your home, please see Pastor Jeff. Small groups meet this Fall on either Wednesday or Thursday nights.

CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED: The church office will be closed tomorrow, September 6 in observance of Labor Day.

THANK YOU: The Baby Bottle Campaign for the Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center collected $638.48 from First Assembly. Thank you to all who participated in this fundraiser.

MEN'S PRAYER BREAKFAST: There will be no men's prayer breakfast during the month of August. The Men's Prayer Breakfast will resume in September.

OUTREACH MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES: We are teaming up with Our Community Place to minister to the people of Harrisonburg. If you have a heart for people, and enjoy ministering to individuals who need to know someone cares, come join us this Thursday, September 9. We will be meeting at the church at 7:30 a.m. to go over to O.C.P. on North Main Street. See Pastor Jeff for further details. Also there are some upcoming events with the Boys & Girls Club that will require extra volunteers. Details will be given in the future.

ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD MEETING: The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 7:00 p.m. All agenda items are requested by next Sunday, Sept. 12.

WON BY ONE: Everyone can make a difference in reaching our community for Christ. Pick up a free copy of today’s message at the conclusion of the service, pray about who God would have you give it to, and invite them to church next Sunday. How do we reach our community? One by one!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY: Everyone is encouraged to join us each Wednesday as we study the Truth of God’s Word. The current study is in Matthew. Come join us for a great evening of fellowship.

STANDING ON THE PROMISES: One of the most powerful things we can do in time of need is to pray using the Scriptures, which are the very promises of God. Here are some to get you started.

YOUNG ADULTS: The young adults will meet this Tuesday at the home of Bill & Cindy Faawcett. The First Assembly Young Adults are studying the 16 Fundamentals of our Faith (Biblical Doctrines) as well as the Position Papers of the Assemblies of God. Any college/career age person interested in this group should Email Brad Huddleston.

KIDZ EXPRESS_NEWS
KIDZ-N-MINISTRY- FINE ARTS will resume on Sunday, September 19 at 5:30 p.m. Ages 6-14 are welcome to come out and give God glory thru puppets, drama, human video and creative movements.
GIRLS CLUB to start on Sunday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m. We are in need of a leader. See Carla if interested.
FINE ARTS FESTIVAL - November 13, 2010 B.G.M.C. - Special Missions Lessons on 4th Sunday of every month. Buddy Barrels also due on 4th Sundays.
